  Travel Options

  Trains

Belgium is a small country so you can easily travel by train and arrive in a couple of hours to different destinations. A good time to travel is the weekend because you can get discount fares. Belgian railways have good connections to many European cities and you can get anywhere you want by train. For more information, check the Belgian railways website.

Another popular choice is the Eurail Pass, which allows unlimited travel over specific days. The company has a variety of travel options. For more information, you can check its website.

  Buses

You can also travel by bus to different destinations in Europe. Eurolines buses have a large network in Europe. However, they operate only between countries and do not provide services inside Belgium. You can check their website for more information. Usually, the bus is less expensive than the train, but it takes longer and it is not too comfortable for long trips.

  Public transportation in Antwerp

While in Antwerp, you will not need to purchase a transportation pass because you can go by foot almost everywhere. However, if you want to see more of Antwerp than what is available by foot, you can purchase a transportation pass for about 20-25 euros a month. Antwerp has a good network of busses, trams and underground stations. You can purchase individual tickets for 1 euro and you can travel for one hour, even if you jump over for a different line. You can also buy a ten-ride pass for 7.5 euros. Passes and tickets can be purchased from automatic vending machines near the stations. DE LINJ is the company that carries out the public transportation in Flanders. Their website is only in Dutch but you can have a look at it.
