  Museums

  Rubens' House

  Antwerp is the city of Rubens, one of the most famous painters of Flanders. His works can be admired in numerous cities across the world, such as London, Paris, Madrid, Munich, St. Petersburg, Washington, Vienna and Antwerp. Rubens' house in Antwerp exhibits ten of his paintings and displays numerous art objects, which either belonged to Rubens or date from his time. For more information, check the museum website.

  Platin-Moretus Museum

  In 1555, Christoffel Plantijn founded the first industrial printing works in history, the Officina Plantiniana. Today, the Plantin-Moretus Museum continues the tradition and offers to the public a view on the history of printing that dates back to the Renaissance and Baroque Period. The museum, with its patrician house, the home archives and typographic treasury was added in 2002 to the World Heritage List. For more information, check the museum website.

  Royal Museum of Fine Arts (Koninklijk Museum voor Schone Kunsten)

  The Royal Museum of Fine Arts displays a vast collection of Flemish paintings and art production from the 14th century to present. For more information, check the museum website.

  National Maritime Museum at "The Steen"

  The National Maritime Museum is housed in The Steen, which is the oldest building in Antwerp. It dates back to the year 1200 and was part of a fortification partially demolished in the 19th century. Placed near the Maritime Park, the museum holds an interesting collection of ship models, paintings, nautical instruments, photos, and documents. For more information, check the museum website.

  MUHKA - Museum of Contemporary Art of Antwerp

  The museum is placed in the "Zuid" (South) district of the city and is housed in a converted grain silo and adjoining warehouse. It exhibits art from 1970 to present and the collection is constantly being added to. For more information, check the museum website.

  Diamond Museum Province of Antwerp

  The museum offers a look into the long diamond craft production of Antwerp, the technology used, and the global character of diamonds. It also exhibits a unique collection of historic and contemporary diamond jewelry. For more information, check the museum website.
