Economics 394, Economics Internship Registering for the course
To register for the course, a course approval form must be completed and signed. If you are on campus, you can get a copy from Loretta Grunewald (ZSH 433). You can also get a copy of the form electronically. The Independent Course Approval Form can be printed from the following location. http://cob.jmu.edu/grunewlh/IndepForm.htm The form can be Saved As a .txt file and retrieved in Word for editing the information to email as an attachment to the faculty advisor. The printed and completed form needs to go from the faculty advisor (currently Bruce Brunton) to the program director (currently Ehsan Ahmed) for signatures. A copy of the form can then be taken to the College of Business Academic Services Center (ASC). The ASC enters your JMU ID number into a list of students approved to take the course. Once they have entered your ID number, all you need to do is go to the JMU web site, get on Ecampus, and register for the course. You should get an email message from the ASC indicating that they have entered your ID and you are approved to register. If this message mentions a number, that number will probably be the class number (some five digit number like those you use to register for regular semester courses) for ECON 394 in the six-week summer session. This should be the only number related to the course that you need to know to register. You do not need a permission code to register for the course. That method, which is used for overrides for regular courses, is no longer used for this course. So even if the registration screen shows a place for you to enter a permission number, just leave this blank; you do not need a permission number to complete registration.
