There are two web design classes that are taught by me at JMU. One is CIS 366 which is the introduction to web design and the other class is CIS 490 which is the independent study class that focuses on more advanced web design. CIS 366. Web Development 3 credits. Offered fall only.
This course is an introduction to the development of Web pages and Web sites. Some of the topics covered in the class include:

The prerequisite course for CIS 366 is CIS 221 called Principles of Programming. This will give students a basic practical experience in writing computer programs using object oriented design and event driven logic. Students would be required to demonstrate competency in the design of object-oriented solutions and the implementation of event driven logic to solve real-world business problems.

CIS 490. Special Studies in Information Technology and Management Sciences. 1-3 credits. Offered fall and spring.
This is an advanced course in information and/or decision sciences designed to give qualified students an opportunity to complete independent study under faculty supervision. The prerequisites for this class are that you must have a senior standing, recommendation of the instructor, and written approval of the director prior to registration.
