COB 204. Computer Information Systems 3 credits. Offered fall and spring.
This course is an introduction to computer-based information systems. Emphasis is placed on:
- Database
- Collaboration
- Computer Hardware
- Software
- Analysis and Design
- Implementation of Information Systems
- Computer Ethics
- The Role of Computers in Society
- The Functional Areas of Business
Students will create databases and webpages using microcomputer tools. Typically, the final exam is given at the end of the semester on the Saturday before exam week.
I teach this class in one of three formats:
- Lecture-Led
- Hybrid: This class meets once a week in a traditional lecture-led format. The other day the class "meets" online using Elluminate or some other online tool.
