notebook or filed on your hard drive. In-class Activities: Students that attend class will participate

collected for a grade for each of the 12 chapters. In-class activities
must be completed in class at the assigned time for the grade. No late in-class activities will

NOTES AND COMMENTS: |
1.
Students who do not attend either the first
or second sessions of the class may be dropped from the class. 2.
Attendance at all classes is strongly
encouraged. You must read the textbook
and attend class to do well on assignments, activities, and
examinations. You will also not
be able to do any of the in-class activities if you do not attend. 3.
There
will be at least one class where we welcome a guest speaker. The purpose of
the guest speaker in COB 204 is to introduce all COB students to the many
different career options in the computer information systems field and to
provide students with some level of detail about typical IT work. 4.
A college class similar to a business
meeting should be treated as a professional interaction between the
participants. With this in mind, electronic device should not interfere or
interrupt this interaction. Text, instant, or email messaging during class is
inappropriate. Leaving class early and/or wandering in and out of
class is inappropriate. 5.
In class activities will be given at least
once a week. Some activities will
be done in class and turned in that day.
Others will be take-home and turned in on a later day. There will be no make up for missed
activities. Late activities will not be accepted. Completing all
activities will add extra credit to your grade. To enhance the learning
process I will provide copies of in-class activities for a couple of days
after we complete them in class. Please remind me to provide you with a copy.
6.
The Access book consists of 4 tutorials
that you will work on outside of class on a weekly basis. Assignments from the tutorials will be
due during the first two minutes of class, not sometime in the middle. Due dates for these tutorials will be
available on the course web site. There will be no make up for missed
tutorial assignments. Late
tutorial assignments will not be accepted. 7.
All SharePoint tutorials and the projects
are considered collaborative and may be done as a group. 8.
All assignments (homework, in-class
activities, tutorials, etc.) and projects will be collected at the beginning
(first two minutes) of class on the day that they are due. Assignments turned in late will not
be accepted. 9.
You have two weeks after an assignment or
exam is graded to talk to me about your grade. After that, no adjustments will be
made to the grade. Please
attend class after an exam to receive your grade and to review all questions
on the exam. If you are not in class to receive a grade, you can stop by my
office to get your exam grade. 10.
If you use the lab in ZSH for working on
individual assignments for this class, you are required to use the shredder
on any work that you are discarding. 11.
There will be no makeup exams unless prior
arrangements have been made or documented medical emergencies occur. 12.
To facilitate class structure and organization, and to simplify
note-taking a selection of PowerPoint slides are attached to the class web
site. |
|
