Fund Contest Added to Stock Market Game
This fall the Stock Market Game offers all its traditional competition plus a new division for teachers seeking a longer investment horizon and more emphasis on mutual funds.

In the traditional competition, students start with a hypothetical $100,000 and trade stocks at market prices for ten weeks. The new division, called the Mutual Funds Challenge, runs for eight months. Participants invest at least half of their portfolios in mutual funds. The longer competition allows more time to reflect on choices.

More information on the new division is available at www.vcee.org/smg . Training for first-time and returning Stock Market Game teachers will be available from the JMU Center for Economic Education; check http://cob.jmu.edu/econed/workshop.htm . Game registration is available at www.smgww.org/ .
