Honors and awards won by JMU economics faculty

Economics faculty members at James Madison University have won awards and honors that reflect their commitment to excellence and their wide-ranging interests. Some of the awards and honors won in recent years include:

  • Scott Milliman, associate professor of economics: named as the winner of the 2006-07 Distinguished Teacher Award in the James Madison University College of Business.
     
  • The faculty as a whole: Top 20 ranking in economic education research productivity. Check the story here.
     
  • Andrew I. Kohen, professor of economics: winner of the 2004 Honors Faculty Service Award at James Madison University.

  • T. Windsor Fields, professor of economics: named as the winner of the 2003-04 Distinguished Teacher Award in the James Madison University College of Business

  • William C. Wood, professor of economics: named as the winner of the 2003-04 Business Community Service Award in the James Madison University College of Business

  • J. Barkley Rosser, professor of economics and holder of the Kirby L. Kramer Jr. Chair of Business Administration: appointed Editor of the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization in 2002.

  • Ehsan Ahmed, program director: named the 2002 Madison Scholar in the College of Business at James Madison University for research achievement.

  • William C. Wood, professor of economics and director of the Center for Economic Education: named 2002 winner of the Southern Economic Association's Distinguished Teaching Award.
