From e-campus Faculty Roster to Excel Spreadsheet

- Login to eCampus
- Open class roster and click on the grid icon

- In the new window that opens, select all (ctrl + a)
- Copy (ctrl +c)
- Open Notepad:  Start, All Programs, Accessories, Notepad
- Right click
- Paste (ctrl + v)
- Select all (ctrl + a)
- Copy (ctrl + c)
- Open new blank page in Excel (file, new)
- Position cursor in cell 1A
- Paste (ctrl + v) or right click, paste, and leave highlighted
- Format, Column, AutoFit Selection

- Using MS Internet Explorer, login to e-campus:
   https://ecampus.jmu.edu/psp/ecampus/SELFSERV/?cmd=login
- Enter your JMU eID and your email Password 
- If you cannot login, call the Help Desk, x8-3555 to resolve the password conflict
- Click login
- Click Access Class Roster
- Click the Semester you want
- Click the Course Title you want. (Note:  there is a long wait while "Processing")
- Select (highlight) all student rows of information (not the heading) by using your
   mouse or cursor keys.

Open Excel (version 2000 or higher)
- Cursor will be positioned in cell 1A
- Click Edit, Paste
- Format, Cells, Alignment
- Uncheck the grey checkmark in Merge Cells by clicking the checkmark twice, OK
- Data, sort, Column A, Ascending, No header row, OK
- Format, Column, AutoFit Selection
- Format, Row, Height, 14, OK

To Save the New File

- Click File, Save As, select a drive letter, type in a File name, click Save

To Save the New File
- Click File, Save As, select a drive letter, type in a File name, click Save

- Enter your email UserID and your email Password 
- If you cannot login, call the Help Desk, x8-3555 to resolve the password conflict
- Click login
- Click For Instructors
- Click Class Roster

Do not enter any information in the blank fields
- Scroll down, click SEARCH
- Scroll to bottom of same page and you will find the links to your classes.  Click a link to open
   roster.
- Select (highlight) all student rows of information (not the heading) by using your mouse or
   cursor keys.

- Click Edit, Copy

Open Excel (version 2000 or higher)
- Cursor will be positioned in cell 1A
- Click Edit, Paste.

Wait for the hourglass to return to a cursor. Text will be highlighted.

To Remove Double Spacing (be sure text is still highlighted) 
- Click Data, Filter, AutoFilter
- Click on one of the small arrow drop-down boxes found within the document and scroll to the bottom
- Click (NonBlanks)
- Click Edit, Copy

To Paste the Roster into a New Excel Blank Sheet
- Click File, New, OK (Workbook, General tab)
- Cursor will be positioned in cell 1A
- Click Edit, Paste,
- Click Format, Row, Height (enter 14), OK
- Click Format, Column, AutoFit Selection

To Remove Yellow Highlight (added 09-20-02)

Click Format, Cells, Patterns, No Color, OK

To Align Text Left (added 09-20-02)
- Click Format, Cells, Alignment, Left

To Save the New File
- Click File, Save As, type in a File name, click Save
