Beth and I learned a lot in graduate school.  We were encouraged to read through large amounts of data, question the sources, examine alternative hypotheses, and let the data determine the truth.  Interestingly, the toughest question we both faced in graduate school was the one Jesus asked his disciples, "Who do you say I am?"  We both read lots of books (starting with C.S. Lewis and eventually the Bible), debated with friends and colleagues, and considered many alternatives.  Our conclusions can best be summarized in the following verses:

"For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance:  that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve."   1 Corinthians 15:3

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast."  Ephesians 2:8

If you ever wonder how two reasonably intelligent people could believe something that seems so improbable, feel free to ask us why.

We are members at Covenant Presbyterian Church, but we consider all those who place their trust in Christ alone to be our brothers and sisters in Him.
