Institute of Management Accountants - Virginia Skyline Chapter
The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is the world's largest professional organization for management accountants and finance professionals. Founded in 1919 as an educational organization, the IMA is today's leading voice of corporate accountants and financial executives. The Institute is a member of the International Federation of Accountants.
The IMA actively promotes management accounting views on critical financial issues. Major advancements and contributions have been achieved through IMA's many programs, including the CMA and CFM programs, research reports, educational programs, Statements on Management Accounting (SMA's), conferences, library services, and the Management Accounting and Strategic Finance magazines. IMA's leadership is recognized throughout the world.
IMA membership provides opportunities to keep abreast of the changes affecting the accounting and finance profession. Virginia Skyline is one of 300 local chapters of the IMA, and serves the Charlottesville and Shenandoah Valley regions of Virginia. Skyline chapter activities include professional development seminars, community projects, and sponsorship of a student IMA chapter at James Madison University.
