Stuff I've written

Merry Excessmas! This is an article adapted from something I wrote for The Wall Street Journal. The basic idea is that we should split the holiday now known as Christmas into two separate holidays. That part of the observance devoted totally to excess would be known as "Excessmas."

Cost-Benefit Analysis of Small Business Assistance. This is the article that won the entrepreneurship research award for me -- and set off a bit of a stir in the small business assistance community. The aftermath of this article is summed up in two articles, as follows:

James J. Chrisman, "Entrepreneurship, Economic Development, and the Small Business Development Center Program: A Comment on William Wood"

and

William C. Wood, "Counting and Miscounting Secondary Benefits: A Reply to Chrisman"

both published in the Journal of Private Enterprise, Vol. 11, No. 1 (Fall 1995): 95-125.
