What should I have known before taking COB291?

  1. Access to JMU Blackboard.  You may watch Blackboard Access Video if you need.  All of COB291 materials will be posted on JMU Blackboard.

  2. Know well MS Excel.

What are expected BEFORE each class and what are expected for each homework assignment?

  1. Finish assigned homework and quiz based on the COB291 Instructions for Homework/Video and Report Writing Example.  Points will be deducted if not following these instructions, such as, missing cover page, and/or not stapled together, tried to finish in class.

  2. Read the corresponding chapter of the textbook, understand examples there.  You may also watch the corresponding video segments in your study.
  3. Prepare answers for the problems to be discussed.  Homework of similar problems will be assigned and answers will be discussed in the next class.

How to print multiple Summary Outputs of Regression on one page?  Answer: 1) cut and paste these tables onto one spreadsheet, 2) highlight the whole area to be printed, 3) click Page Layout/Print Area/Set Print Area, 4) click Office Bottom/Print/Print Preview, 5) click Page Setup/Fit to the default is to print on one page.

    2. How to print Gridlines and Headings?  Answer:  1) highlight the whole area to be printed, 2) click Page Layout/Print Area/Set Print Area, 3) click Print Gridlines and Headings as Print.

    3. How to get Data Analysis and Solver for MAC?  Answer: 1) click Tools/Addins/Data Analysis and Solver, 2) select Data Analysis and Solver in the new Window.
